Mal Barron has been composing jazz numbers since the 1970s. Inspired by Brazilian melodic traditions standard jazz repertoire West Coast groove fusion and chamber jazz Barron allows himself and his fellow musicians to express themselves freely. Over the past five decades Barron has played in multiple formats including Tropical Cleveland and solo as Ara Pavo and at local institutions such as The Barking Spider and Nighttown. The Quartet includes Bob Ventre on Guitar John Mallet on Bass Alan Nemeth on Drums and Barron on Saxophone & Flute. This program will highlight work from the past ten years including selections from his latest album - Flute Sessions. Registration preferred. Sponsored by the Friends of the Beachwood Public Library.

The Beachwood Branch first opened to the public on October 31, 1982. At the time, it was the first branch in the CCPL system to have an automated circulation system. Located just a few hundred yards from the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, the branch offers a drive-up window where customers can pick up requested materials, dedicated spaces for kids and teens, and a beautiful outdoor reading garden.
