Baseball historian and sports author Scott Longert will cover the life and untimely death of Cleveland Indians shortstop Ray Chapman, who is the subject of his book Love and Loss.
Chapman’s life was tragically cut short in 1920 after being hit in the head by a pitch thrown by Carl Mays. Surviving for only 12 hours after the fatal blow to his skull, Chapman is buried in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.
